Hubballi Businessman Falls Victim to Cyber Crime, Loses Rs. 4.38 Lakh

A businessman from Hubballi, Karnataka, has been cheated out of Rs. 4.38 lakh by cyber criminals. The victim, who is from Lingaraj Nagar, was added to a WhatsApp group related to online trading.

In the group, information related to online trading was shared. The victim was then convinced to install a dubious application on his mobile phone. Once the application was installed, the fraudsters were able to access the victim’s financial information and steal his money.

The victim initially invested Rs. 4.38 lakh into the scheme. The cyber criminals then credited Rs. 100 to his account as a profit, but they did not return any of the remaining money.

The victim realized that he had been cheated and filed a complaint with the Cyber Crime Police. The police are investigating the case and are trying to track down the cyber criminals.
